Things to do in Las Vegas 2021

Since my sister has lived in Las Vegas for 16 years, I have visited her several times. I came for a month after my 21st birthday, as a couple for my husband’s 21st birthday (yup, I’m older), and with kids before my daughter turned 1 years old, but this is my first time as a ladies only trip. When my sister decided to participate in her virtual graduation, we made it a girl’s trip to celebrate the special occasion. My sister created an incredible itinerary with a variety of activities from outdoor adventures to nightlife to good eats to shows and daily affirmations. Each of us could choose if we wanted to participate in all activities or skip a few to chill & relax. After all, it was our mommy’s retreat.

WYNN Buffet:

We made reservations for brunch on Thursday at 10:45am. We added the endless mimosas to the buffet, which was an extra $25 per person. The price for the buffet was $45.99 per person and it was definitely worth the price. The buffet offered so many options including sushi, omelet station, meat carving, dim sum, breakfast selection, and delicious desserts.

Beauty and Essex:

Beauty and Essex is a unique restaurant that is hidden behind a lavish pawn shop. Once in the pawn shop, look for a door towards the end to enter and feel the romantic ambiance. The meals were served family style and for the 6 of us we ordered 7 dishes. These were the dishes we tried: tomato soup dumpling (2 orders), spaghettini, Mexican sweet corn ravioli, chicken meatballs, chicken sliders, and Chile relleno empanadas. When we ordered, some of us thought we needed to order more because we would still be hungry, but we all were stuffed.

Area 15:

We were invited to attend Las Vegas Weekly’s Best of Vegas Awards at Area 15. Area 15 was a cool, vibrant spot with multiple interactive experiences. We didn’t get to try the other spots since we were having so much fun at the party. The DJ was pumping Britney Spears, the local vendors handed out free cotton candy, and they served the best hand-crafted ice cream tacos I have ever had. We also received 2 free drinks, and there was a really rad photo booth.

Seven Magic Mountains:

These 7 colorful large-scale art installation was designed by Ugo Rondinone. They were supposed to be removed at the end of 2018, but now have been extended to 2021. There is no reservations required, and it is open to the public.

Mayfair Supper Club:

One of my favorite nights was at this unique restaurant inside The Bellagio. Not only did we have amazing food, fun drinks (hello, champagne cocktail), but an amazing entertainment. We were seated behind the stage with the view of the Bellagio dancing fountain and the Eiffel Tower. We each ordered our own meals and all enjoyed it. These are the meals we ordered: lobster, salmon, filet mignon, and truffle pasta.

David Copperfield:

When my sister asked us if we wanted to see David Copperfield, we all said, “sure”. After all, he is a legendary magician, but I hate to say that we were so disappointed! I really wanted to enjoy it, but I could see his tricks! He “disappeared” from being on stage then “reappeared” in the middle of the audience, which would’ve been amazing IF I didn’t see him pass right behind me in a black trench coat. He also did this weird storyline with an alien (yup, I said alien) that went on and on and on.. oh my goodness, I was so bored. Save your money and see someone else! Last time I went, we saw Mat Franco, and he was so good!

Foundation Room:

My sister’s friends invited us to this sophisticated lounge on the rooftop of Mandalay Bay. Before entering the elevator up to the Foundation Room, the hostess checked to see if we were on the guest list. Once entering this exclusive lounge, we were greeted with my sister’s friends who had a private table with bottle service. We also checked out the balcony with the view overlooking the famous Las Vegas strip.

Fantasy:

Fantasy is a true Vegas show for adults only. The show features topless women dancing and performing on aerial ribbon hanging from ceiling. No doubt these women are fit and do a great job entertaining.

Tea Party:

I don’t normally think tea party when it comes to Las Vegas, but I would highly recommend this one. We had so much fun dressing up in our floral dresses and fascinators. This tea lounge is located on the 23rd floor at the beautiful Waldorf Astoria. We ordered 4 sets of tea, which included the tea sandwiches and pastries. These are the teas we tried: floral jasmine green, organic lychee green, matcha, mango oolong (favorite).

Rio Zipline:

What a fun way to end a trip by zip-lining on the rooftop of Rio! I have been zip-lining before, but never like this. We couldn’t chicken out because we already paid for the Groupon (lol!). Vegas Jade and I sat on the chair only strapped in by a single seatbelt. Thankfully, we had each other to hold as our feet dangled 500 feet high and going at 33 mph!

We did a lot for the 4 full days we were there. Extra recommendations:

  • walk the Las Vegas strip at night- that is an event itself, just don’t forget your comfortable shoes!
  • adults only pool- some of the girls went to the pool, but wished it was adults only as we didn’t have our kids with us
  • Limo ride on the strip- this was so much fun! we jammed our favorite songs and sang as loud as we wanted as the limo drove the strip
  • Las Vegas sign- you’ve probably seen this on Instagram, the famous Welcome to the fabulous Las Vegas sign. When I first took a picture there, there were no parking spots. We just had to risk our lives crossing the street and snapping a blurry picture. Now, not only is there a parking lot, but there are people offering to take your picture there with a lighting set for a donation.
  • Valley of Fire State Park: almost an hour from the strip is this magical state park. bring plenty of water and avoid peak heat times.

I can’t thank my sister enough for the amazing planning she did for all of us to enjoy our time there and with each other. The memories made will forever be cherished.

Have you been to Las Vegas lately? What’s your favorite experience there?

Xoxo,

mrsbbys
